a steampunk rocketship !
i knew that i'd scanned this somewhere, but had lost it on the hard drive up until today.
in a stunning departure from form we have another spaceship type doodle, but from a different era; so that makes a change, eh ?
in fact, come to think of it, it does look a little like something that the nazi-era portion of the hellboy comics might come up with.
once again son of meeting doodler does the honours admirably.
in fact this great little 'alien in a transparent spaceship' doodle - oh yes, we've all done one of them - was produced for his uncle.
nothing recognisable from little l yet, but she's working on it !
little green men ..?
now i don't think you could imagine that these guys are engaging their warp engines, and enduring various 'G's against their frail, alien forms; just so that they can reach the - doubtless fascinating - schedule of fiscal results hovering menacingly above them.
more likely that some poor office worker has had the overwhelming desire to take whatever piece of paper comes easiest to hand, and scribble away on it, in some vain attempt at creativity or free thought, within the oppressive environs of his 9 to 5 existence.
... but probably, actually, just because i found a nice pen in my bag, and thought i'd amuse myself during a 'phone conversation.
still not very successful at avoiding the usual themes - true we may have a pairing of giant and mini aliens that we've never seen before; but we also have some rocket-packing spacemen who look very much like the guys we've seen spacewalking in the past
... and, of course, there's still a dirty great space rocket at the bottom of the doodle !i guess the problem is that when i doodle it's a relatively subconscious act for me, so i would normally have no active thought process as i'm doodling.
so if i start to thing 'i don't want to doodle this or that' then i enevitably start thinking about what i should doodle instead; and then it all gets a little contrived.
ah well, i sit through the same presentation again tomorrow; lets see what we get then, eh "?
not very successful at my stated aim of avoiding the old favourites - here we see rocket ships, aliens planets, and even some little tentacles.
maybe my next one will be a little more unique ?

a spaceship departure
presumably this is me wishing for some way, ANY way, to escape this dull meeting.
it was brief though... but still dull.
spacesquid again ?
well, i suppose that this is familiar territory; which is probably telling people an awful lot more about my inner thoughts than i'd like them to know.
i put it all down to the space-battle i had with a tentacled alien when i was a child; such formative events in your life clearly have a lasting influence on you as you grow up.
either that, or the slightly pointless meeting that i attended the other day - full of expensive words, telling us the blindingly obvious.
a space battle.
it was a long duuuuuull meeting
merchandise alert !
check out the link to the right, snappily entitled 'Shop Meeting Doodler!'.
wear the doodles and spread the word !
and if you have any favourites that you'd like to see on there, or have any specific merchandise requests, then drop me a line and i'll see what i can do.
son of space squid !
yep, it's been a little while since we had a space squid - and a little rocket in peril too, to add to the drama of the piece.
with this much scribbling i think that the others around the table must've thought i was taking notes like crazy.
yeah... crazy like a fox !!!
abstract + spaceship
don't think i've posted this before
