son of doodler gets in on the sponsorship deal...?

son of doodler gets in on the sponsorship deal...?

nope, but the boy has talent.

this is j's response to my previous doodle.

...he makes me so proud.

peek-a-boo !

peek-a-boo !

...so at this point in the conference i'm getting a little bored.

i think that the exaggerated eyes on this alien thingy were some subconscious steer to my brain not to allow my eyelids to drop for one moment.

time for another table mint, i think...

don't mind if i do !

once again son of meeting doodler ...

once again son of meeting doodler does the honours admirably.

in fact this great little 'alien in a transparent spaceship' doodle - oh yes, we've all done one of them - was produced for his uncle.

nothing recognisable from little l yet, but she's working on it !

little green men ..?

little green men ..?

now i don't think you could imagine that these guys are engaging their warp engines, and enduring various 'G's against their frail, alien forms; just so that they can reach the - doubtless fascinating - schedule of fiscal results hovering menacingly above them.

more likely that some poor office worker has had the overwhelming desire to take whatever piece of paper comes easiest to hand, and scribble away on it, in some vain attempt at creativity or free thought, within the oppressive environs of his 9 to 5 existence.

... but probably, actually, just because i found a nice pen in my bag, and thought i'd amuse myself during a 'phone conversation.

still not very successful...

still not very successful at avoiding the usual themes - true we may have a pairing of giant and mini aliens that we've never seen before; but we also have some rocket-packing spacemen who look very much like the guys we've seen spacewalking in the past

... and, of course, there's still a dirty great space rocket at the bottom of the doodle !

i guess the problem is that when i doodle it's a relatively subconscious act for me, so i would normally have no active thought process as i'm doodling.

so if i start to thing 'i don't want to doodle this or that' then i enevitably start thinking about what i should doodle instead; and then it all gets a little contrived.

ah well, i sit through the same presentation again tomorrow; lets see what we get then, eh "?

a floating alien platform...

a floating alien platform soars up into the clouds.

he looks happy enough though, triumphant even !

if i remember rightly this one was sketched towards the end of a long long LONG meeting.

whatever you do, don't look up...

whatever you do, don't look up...

i do like this one, again it's from the 3hour session the other day.

i always reach a point, during one of these long meetings, when i start to wonder 'do they all think i'm furiously busy taking notes from this meeting, or do they realise i'm just doodling away?'

the former lends me the cloak of intelligence, rigour and conscientiousness; the latter reveals me for the scribbling buffoon that i truly am.

i like this one, though. tentacles again, a bit of a recurring theme for me of late.

alien skull and medusa mask

alien skull and medusa mask, together at last.

as i may have mentioned in previous posts - a VERY dull training session.

these are both rather odd, though.

superhero vs tentacle creature

superhero vs tentacle creature

sufficed to say that this is one of a several doodles from a very VERY dull training session that i attended yesterday.

it might even be worth a click on the image to see the frustration in the penstrokes !!

a strange alien pod thingy

a strange alien pod thingy, i guess.

i do like the brightness of this one; like the image of the little guy in his yellow pod surrounded by/supported on red tendrils.

this might come up again.

bovine alien abduction

bovine alien abduction

just a little corner doodle to amuse you for the short working week to come.

it's happened before, on those friday meetings, that my hand starts to produce an abduction scenario...

draw (no pun intended) your own conclusions !!!

alien attack !!!

alien attack !!!

in my regular friday meeting i'm fast becoming the pain-in-the-arse guy who asks questions that maybe others don't want to, or feel that they shouldn't have to.

in many ways it feels a little like i'm pointing out that the bloke on the throne up there is naked as the day he was born.

so i suppose that explains the lone schmuck in the doodle being set upon by a herd of marauding beak-mouthed aliens...

but today was a good day, today they listened to the schmuck

a spacewalk

a spacewalk; the first comment from s on this one was something along the lines of "you're colouring them in now ?"

...and she does have a point. to clarify - i don't take packs of highlighters into meetings; doodles like this will tend to be at my desk (phone calls, waiting for something to finish running on the pc, etc.)

i have a headache now from the fumes off the highlighters/whiteboard markers... i suffer for this blog !

an alien abduction

an alien abduction, and boy i was praying for something along these lines to save me from the meeting i was in today.

only 1 hr 20, though, so not so bad on that front.

little did i know, however, i'd be leaving this meeting to right into another one...(see next post)
